By finishing 26th in the league standings, the Flyers have the seventh-best odds to win the ‘Connor Bedard Sweepstakes’ at 6.5%.

The Anaheim Ducks have the best chance to win the first overall pick with 25.5% odds.

While the odds are not in the Flyers’ favor, anything can happen in the lottery as we saw in 2017 when the Flyers landed the second overall pick with even smaller odds. It’s also been reported that Briere plans to be aggressive in the offseason with hopes of moving up in the draft. Winning the lottery or not, the Flyers’ rebuild will kick off with a solid start. Owning a top-ten pick in a deep 2023 draft, the player that the Flyers select will be a main part of a new future core.

On Sunday’s episode of ’32 Thoughts: The Podcast’, Elliotte Friedman mentioned, “I think the NHL would be very happy if Connor Bedard ended up in Philly.”

According to Forbes, the Flyers are ranked as the eighth most valuable franchise in the NHL. According to hockey reference, they ranked 26th in attendance in 2022-2023 at 90.3% capacity. A large gap from franchise value to attendance, the Flyers are in unfamiliar territory.
