PHILS WENT 31-20 WITHOUT BRYCE, WITH HIM RED OCTOBER IS REAL!

By Sarah Paley

With last night’s win, the Phillies increased their lead to 2 1/2 games over idle San Diego in the race for the NL’s second wild-card spot.

The Phils have a four-game lead over Milwaukee, which is the first team out of playoff contention in the newly expanded format.

And the Phils went 31-20 in games without slugger Bryce Harper, who is expected to rejoin the lineup on tonight after missing two months with a broken left thumb.
