WILL HE OR WON’T HE? SHAKY EAGLES QB NICK FOLES MAY HAVE TO PLAY SUNDAY AGAINST THE COWBOYS!

“It is going to be day-to-day. Injuries will play a factor in that. You are only limited to 46 (players on game day) and you have to put seven down, so if you do the math, some of your starters are going to have to play.”

Eagles coach Doug Pederson has an obvious problem:

Should he start his regulars next Sunday in an otherwise meaningless game against the Cowboys at the Linc, or should he rest them so they can heal for the playoffs?

“I got to get him as many reps as he can, and then be smart about it. Obviously have a lot of football left. Our season is just beginning ” Pederson said about QB Nick Foles. “We’ll be smart. Make good decisions as the coaching staff, talk to the coordinators about play time, and we’ll have a good plan later in the week.”

“You’d love to hopefully get him some time in there,” Pederson said. “We haven’t really seen him in an Eagles’ uniform take snaps under center, outside of practice. It would be good to get him some time.”

“I am a competitor. I can’t wait to get some reps and play in some games, but at the same time it is the coach’s decision,” back-up QB Nate Sudfeld said. “I was ready to go (on Monday) and I’ll be ready to go when my number is called next week. Looking forward to having a good week of practice.”

“I can’t look at it as a preseason game,” Pederson said. “We don’t have 90 guys. We can’t rest half the team. We have to get ready for the Cowboys.”
