WILL EAGLES QB WENTZ BE HEALTHY FOR WEEK 1? ‘GOING TO BE CLOSE!’

“I obviously would love to be out there. That has been my goal all offseason, ever since the injury. It is going to be close. It is going to be close,” Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz said this morning on WIP. “I am still eyeing that date. But at the end of the day it is not just my decision. There is coaches and doctors that really have the final say, but I really like where I am at and time will tell.”

Wentz was talking about the chances he’ll be cleared by the doctors to play in Week 1 in just 23 days against the Atlanta Falcons at the Linc. His training camp so far has been a rollercoaster in terms of predicting whether he will be on the field against the Falcons.

“My knee feels really good. Rehab and everything has been going great,” Wentz said. “Every day it feels a little bit better out there. So I really like where I am at. Now it is just kind of a ‘be patient’ thing.”

“I’ve done everything I could up to this point to be ready and to get my knee as strong as can be in this amount of time,” Wentz said. “I think the chips will fall where they are supposed to fall.”
