WHY THE EAGLES WILL BEAT WFT TONIGHT AND COVER THE 42 1/2!

By Skip Charles in Vegas

The Eagles have run at will for most of the season and now lead the league, averaging 160 rushing yards per game with a ground attack paced by quarterback Jalen Hurts (695 rushing yards) and running back Miles Sanders (578 yards).

Both are dealing with ankle injuries but are expected to play tonight following their bye week.

But if the run game isn’t there for the Eagles, they may be in trouble. They average less than 200 yards passing per game, third-worst in the league behind only Houston and Chicago. Hurts hasn’t thrown for more than 180 yards in five straight contests.

Philly’s final four games of the season come against division foes, with three of them at Lincoln Financial Field. But bettors beware: The Eagles are a measly 1-4 SU at home this season and haven’t won in their last five matchups against an NFC East opponent.

Only five teams have turned the ball over more than Washington this season. If Philly’s pass rush can put pressure on Heinicke (or Kyle Allen if he is called upon) and force him into mistakes, then those who drop money on the Eagles to cover may be happy when this one is over.
