Zack Wheeler cruised to his fifth victory of the season, holding the Nationals to just two runs on three hits over 7 1/3 strong innings.

He racked up six strikeouts and walked three.

The Nationals’ scoring came on a pair of RBI doubles — one by Keibert Ruiz in the second inning and another off the bat of Eddie Rosario in the fifth.

Now 5-3 on the season, Wheeler will carry a 2.52 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and a 71/19 K/BB ratio (60 2/3 innings) into Thursday’s showdown against the Rangers.
