WHEELER HAS ALLOWED 2 EARNED RUNS OR LESS IN 14 OF 17 STARTS!

By Sally Hanson

Zack Wheeler gave up two runs over 6 2/3 innings in a no-decision against the Marlins.

Wheeler was tagged for a pair of runs in the seventh inning when reliever Matt Strahm served up a game-tying three-run double to Bryan De La Cruz.

The 34-year-old ace has allowed two earned runs or fewer in 14 of his 17 starts this season.

He’ll bring a solid 2.73 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 112/31 K/BB ratio across 105 2/3 innings (17 starts) into a road tilt on Wednesday against the Cubs at Wrigley Field.
