The Edmonton Oilers and their fans are holding their breaths Tuesday night as prized rookie Connor McDavid went down with an apparent injury against the Flyers.
This injury will interrupt what had been one of the most anticipated rookie seasons since Sidney Crosby and Alex Ovechkin arrived simultaneously in 2005-06.
McDavid, the 18-year-old phenom Edmonton selected first overall in June, slammed into the boards in a scary collision. His arm was positioned awkwardly and it looks like he jammed his left shoulder. McDavid immediately left the game and was favoring his left arm.
