Kyle Schwarber went 2-for-4 with two homers and five RBI, leading the Phillies to an 8-4 victory over the Nationals in the opening game of a doubleheader.

Schwarber came back to haunt his former organization in the opener of Tuesday’s twin bill, slugging a pair of round-trippers off Nationals starter Trevor Williams to record his second multi-homer performance of the year.

He belted a two-run shot in the third inning and also added a three-run tater in the fourth.

The 30-year-old slugger has eclipsed the 30-homer plateau for the fifth time in the last six full seasons dating back to 2017.

He’s unlikely to reach last year’s career-high 46, but has a decent shot at surpassing 40 homers for the second time in his career.
