The NCAA announced Fridy that it will restore Joe Paterno’s 111 wins to Penn State’s football program, putting Paterno back in first as Division I college football’s winningest coach.
Keith Olbermann celebrated the news by naming the NCAA and Penn State the worst in the sports world.
Olbermann called out the NCAA and Penn State for attempting to take one more step in restoring the school’s image by returning the victories achieved while assistant coach Jerry Sandusky was sexually assaulting children. The move was two institutions making an attempt to push the scandal a little further into the forgotten.
“This is Joe Paterno’s legacy,” Olbermann said. “This is Penn State’s legacy. Football was more important to them than saving children.”
