Villanova takes on Butler today at 2:30 up on the Main Line, and the Wildcats figure to win and keep their No. 1 national ranking in the AP and the coaches polls.
But there is no doubt about why the Cats are so good this year and could make it to the Final Four in April:
The Wildcats are typically a risky choice because of their small lineup overly dependent on 3-pointers, but they keep winning this year despite lackluster outside shooting.
Josh Hart may be a 6-foot-5 guard, but he’s one of the most complete players in college basketball, excelling as a rebounder and scorer around the basket.
This is Jay Wright’s best defensive team, and the Cats also are terrific shooters from close range and at the free-throw line. They’ve played at a consistently high level the last couple months.
