The defending national champion Villanova Wildcats lost their best player in four-year starter Ryan Arcidiacono to graduation.
But part of the reason this talented Villanova squad will be in the mix to return to the Final Four has a great deal to do with Brunson’s potential in taking over full-time as point guard after sharing duties with Arcidiacono last year.
Brunson excelled in his role last season as a sparkplug freshman, but now he steps into a larger role where he can really show what he can do in coach Jay Wright’s guard-oriented offense.
Brunson averaged 9.6 points a game last season. Expect his numbers to go way up in 2016-17.
