8. Villanova Wildcats
If there was a year for Big East teams to slow down Villanova, last season was the one — and the Wildcats still won an outright Big East regular-season title.
And now the Wildcats are losing seniors Phil Booth and Eric Paschall but should be better.
Five-star prospects Bryan Antoine and Jeremiah Robinson-Earl could start right away, although Antoine suffered a shoulder injury that could affect the start to his college career.
But Jay Wright has plenty of pieces, with three returning starters in Collin Gillespie, Jermaine Samuels and Saddiq Bey plus expected improvement from Cole Swider and Dhamir Cosby-Roundtree.
