VILLANOVA GOES 9-2 WITH 48-31 WIN OVER ALBANY

Surprise, surprise!

Look who led Villanova to its ninth victory last night?

John Robertson ran for three touchdowns and threw for two more to lead the Wildcats to a 48-31 victory over Albany at Villanova Stadium.

Robertson threw for 225 yards and added 168 more on the ground. Kevin Gulyas was on the receiving end of both of Roberts’ touchdown passes, and had 106 yards on three receptions for Villanova (9-2, 6-1 Colonial Athletic Association).

Robertson completed a 62-yard touchdown pass to Gulyas in the first drive after the half, and Kevin Monangai’s 2-yard TD run with 8:55 left in the third put the Wildcats up 42-10.

Omar Osbourne scored two touchdowns on the ground for Albany (6-5, 2-5) and had 64 of the Great Danes’ 77 yards rushing.

Will Fiacchi threw for 331 yards and two touchdowns, the final a 25-yarder to Brian Parker with 49 seconds left to play to cut the difference to 17 points.
