Trea Turner went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a steal on Sunday in the Phillies’ 10-8 win over the Twins.
Turner didn’t attempt a steal in 13 games last spring, and he tried just two during the exhibition season in both 2020 and 2021.
If he does more running with the new rules this spring, that could be a good sign for a rebound in the category in 2023.
Turner, who has stolen as many as 46 bases in a season, went 27-for-30 in 160 games for the Dodgers last year.
