Says The Athletic:
Does that mean it’s a stone-cold lock GM Chuck Fletcher will make a trade or two?
Of course not. Does it mean the club will be in on every big name on the market? Also no.
But the Flyers are not in “asset-hoarding” mode. And they’re not on the fence between buying and selling.
The front office wants to improve this team, if possible.
The lack of significant cap space is a factor. The Flyers cannot add someone like Chris Kreider ($4.625 million cap hit) or Tyler Toffoli ($4.6 million) without shipping at least one roster player out. But that’s not the only reason I think it’s unlikely Philadelphia goes out and gets a game-changing, top-of-the-lineup player.
