For the first time since he was drafted in 2013 out of Stanford with the 35th overall pick in the 2nd round, Eagles tight end Zach Ertz is an afterthought.
The Birds open training camp tomorrow, and Ertz is a man without a home.
Or he will be until the Eagles, who don’t want to sign him, trade him or cut him and his $8.5 million salary with a $12.7 million cap hit.
He’s still technically on the roster, but it’s time for Ertz to pass the torch.
Dallas Goedert is ready.
He was injured for part of last season but was very effective when he was available.
He averaged a career-high 8.1 yards per target last season, which means he can get down the field.
