Even sadder is the sense Woods doesn’t fully understand what he’s become. He doesn’t seem to realize that it’s over. The “I’m getting close to finding it” talk rings more hollow with each underwhelming finish. He now sounds delusional when talking about his status. Lamentably, it’s made him a joke among hardcore fans.
