It may have been a heartfelt statement of loyalty on the part of Keith Jones.
Ed Snider was the Flyers owner from 1967 through 2016, when he died.
And he is a beloved figure within the organization.
But Snider’s reign was characterized by his tendency to only hire from within the Flyers family.
The result:
Since 2010, when the Flyers lost the Stanley Cup in six games to Chicago, they have become a laughingstock.
Let’s see if Jones, a former player, as well as Danny Briere, the Flyers GM, can break that streak.
