THE ICE IS MELTING UNDER PENN STATE COACH JAMES FRANKLIN’S FEET!

By Mary Cunningham

The ice is melting under Penn State coach James Franklin’s feet.

And, if the Nits lose again to Temple this Saturday, it may disappear altogether!

The Temple loss in last year’s opener gave the Franklin doubters plenty of ammunition. Now, two weeks into this season, he also has a loss to old rival Pittsburgh on his résumé.

In the realm of Penn State football, the Nits aren’t supposed to be losing to those teams.

The good news is that it looks like Penn State has straightened out some of its offensive woes. It comes at a good time, too, because Temple comes to town this week followed by a trip to Michigan. The last thing Franklin needs is another loss to Temple.

Of course, he could make everybody in Happy Valley giddy in two weeks, too, if the Nittany Lions can take down Michigan.
