THANK GOD SIXERS AND NBA IN A BUBBLE AS THEY START OVER JULY 30!

By Art Beitchman

NBA teams are scheduled to re-start the 2019-20 season at Disney World’s campus in Lake Buena Vista, Florida on July 30, and the Sixers are due in Florida on either July 7, 8, or 9.

But the recent spike in COVID-19 cases in the Sunshine State has many NBA players, owners and fans edge.

What’s next with this state that can’t get its collective act together on the guidelines to fight this killer disease!

Will it be safe for NBA players to play by July 30, and will they be protected from COVID-19?

The only saving grace is that all involved with play, media, medical will be sealed in a so called protective bubble. There will be daily COVID-19 and temperature tests conducted by the people inside the bubble, no outsiders.

Not the Floridians running around the state with no masks and no social distancing to help curb this virus with common sense remedies that have been proven to work.

Only the good people in Florida don’t completely believe in the science, for better or worse, lately much worse according to the latest statistics.

So this is the situation we find ourselves in as the NBA starts the end of the NBA season, and playoffs in Central Florida.

Good luck to all involved with this challenging job, we’ll be watching.
