This will be DJ Eliot’s first NFL coaching job after 23 years coaching college, serving as Temple’s defensive coordinator and outside linebackers coach in 2022.
The Owls led the American Athletic Conference with 38 sacks and ranked second in passing yards allowed (198.6 yards per game) in Eliot’s one season on Broad Street.
Eliot’s prior coaching stops include Kansas, Florida State, Miami, Colorado, and Kentucky. In all, Eliot has been a defensive coordinator for nine seasons.
The #Eagles are hiring Temple defensive coordinator D.J. Eliot as their linebackers coach, per sources.
Eliot, 46, stays in Philadelphia and replaces Nick Rallis, who left to become Arizona’s DC.
