Temple had lost three straight and rock-solid Wil Cummings had been out with an injury.
So Thursday night at the Liacouras Center Cummings returned and allw as right in the Temple world.
Jesse Morgan (photo above) was 5 of 8 from 3-point range and finished with a season-high 19 points as Temple beat South Florida 73-48 to snap a three-game skid.
Morgan had three of Temple’s five 3-pointers during a 15-2 run midway through the first half that gave the Owls (13-7, 4-3 American) the lead for good. Temple closed the half with seven straight points for a 39-20 lead.
Quenton DeCosey had 14 points including a dunk as part of a 12-5 run that stretched the Owls lead to 62-37 with eight minutes to play. Cummings added 12 points and three steals.
South Florida (7-12, 1-5) scored the first five points of the second half to narrow the gap down to 14 points but got no closer from there.
Corey Allen Jr. scored 12 points and Ruben Guerrero 10 to lead the Bulls, who lost their fourth in a row.
