SUPER SID CROSBY OUT FOR START OF SEASON AFTER WRIST SURGERY!

By Jenny Masters

Sidney Crosby underwent a procedure on his wrist yesterday that will sideline him for a minimum of six weeks.

Crosby will miss the start of training camp as a result and he is slated to be out for the beginning of the regular season if that timetable holds.

“This is not a new injury for Sid. It is something that he has played through for years,” Penguins GM Ron Hextall said. “After exhausting all minimally-invasive options and much discussion, it was decided that surgery was in his best interest.”

Crosby racked up 24 goals and 62 points in 55 games last season.
