Sixers center Joel Embiid “did what he could do” in today’s practice, according to coach Doc Rivers.

“If your goal is to get out the 2nd round, how low are your goals? That’s not my goal. That’s not successful for me, or hopefully are team, hopefully are city. We want more, we want the entire cake. You have to put your heart on the line to do that!” pic.twitter.com/E2cp7Cn8cu

Embiid (small meniscus tear, right knee) still hasn’t been able to fully participate in practice for the 76ers, who open their second round series against the Hawks on Sunday.
He’s considered to be day-to-day, but it’s difficult to envision a scenario in which he’s cleared to play in Game 1.
Dwight Howard becomes a player of greater importance with Embiid sidelined, and there may also be times in which the 76ers turn to Mike Scott as part of a smaller lineup.
