WHERE WAS THE EAGLES’ VAUNTED D-LINE’ PASS RUSH? MIA!!!

Falcon QB went virtually untouched the entire game.

It’s only one game, but the biggest bummer of the Eagles’ 26-24 loss last night in Atlanta was:

The almost total absence of a pass rush from the vaunted defensive line!

The front seven was supposed to be one of the strong suits for the Birds. Instead, it seemed like one of the team’s biggest weaknesses.

It is easy to point the blame at $60 million cornerback Byron Maxwell while Julio Jones runs roughshod to the tune of 140 yards and two touchdowns. However, that would only be telling half the story of what was a rough night at the office for the Eagles defense.

Due to an outbreak of preseason injuries the Falcons started a patchwork offensive line but was still good enough to neutralize the likes of Fletcher Cox, Bennie Logan, Cedric Thornton, DeMeco Ryans, Mychal Kendricks, Brandon Graham and Connor Barwin. That shouldn’t happen.
