SO MUCH FOR SANCHEZ’ 17 SCORELESS INNINGS: 7 RUNS AGAINST CUBS!

By Sam Bush

Cristopher Sánchez gave up seven runs in four-plus innings against the Cubs.

After three scoreless innings, Sánchez gave up a walk, a single and a homer to Ian Happ to start the fourth.

That wasn’t the end of the damage.

The Cubs rallied for two more runs after another walk, and then had two more soft hits to begin the fifth, resulting in his removal.

Both runners later came around to score off Seranthony Domínguez. Sánchez was working on a 19-inning scoreless streak until the fourth today. He gave up as many earned runs today as in his previous seven starts combined, and his ERA jumped from 2.41 to 2.96.
