SIXERS TO RAPS: REGULAR SEASON’S OVER, THESE ARE THE PLAYOFFS!

By Art Beitchman

After a one-week layoff from regular season play, the 76ers came out focused and hungry against the Toronto Raptors, thumping them 131-111 in game 1.

They beat them on the scoreboard behind big games from second year guard Tyrese Maxey who torched them for 38 points and Tobias Harris who popped 26, as the Sixers put to rest quickly which team in this series is superior.

The Raptors learned this wasn’t the regular season anymore, as the Sixers also beat them up physically for 48 minutes.

Top rookie Scotty Barnes went out with a twisted ankle, and he’s out for tonight’s game 2 matchup.

Gary Trent Jr. is out with a non-Covid illness and Thad Young is doubtful with a sprained thumb.

Toronto was an underdog before the series, now even more so with the hungry Sixers eager to make short work of the foes from the North.

Game 2 is tonight at the Wells Fargo Center, then the action moves to Toronto for games 3 and 4.
