SIXERS SWAP MCW, K. J. FOR A NO. 1 AND NO .2 PICK IN 2015

If someone had told you this morning that the Sixers would make one trade before today’s 3 pm deadline, you might not have blinked.

But three?

kjAfter acquiring JaVale McGee and a No. 1 pick from the Denver Nuggets this morning, the Sixers traded point guard Michael Carter-Williams (photo above), last season’s rookie of the year, and K. J. McDaniels (left).

For MCW, they will receive:

The Los Angeles Lakers’ first-round pick (from Suns, top-5 protected, which is protected for selections 1-5 in 2015, 1-3 in 2016 and 1-3 in 2017 and unprotected in 2018, per RealGM.com

Carter-Williams, the 11th overall pick in 2013, won the NBA Rookie of the Year in his first year with the team, and was averaging 15.0 points, 7.4 assists and 6.2 rebounds this season.

Here is how the deal will shake out:

Milwaukee Bucks get: Carter-Williams, Tyler Ennis, Miles Plumlee
Phoenix Suns get: Brandon Knight
Sixers get: Los Angeles Lakers’ first-round pick (from Suns, top-5 protected)

Carter-Williams, the 11th overall pick in 2013, won the NBA Rookie of the Year in his first year with the team, and was averaging 15.0 points, 7.4 assists and 6.2 rebounds this season.

Then, the Sixers shipped McDaniels to the Houston Rockets in exchange for Isaiah Canaan and a second-rounder.
