As the Ben Simmons trade circus grinds on indefinitely in Sixersland, here is another scenario that could work:
Simmons and a 2022 No. 1 pick to the Sacramento Kings for shooting guard Buddy Hield (who has a $22M salary) and Marvin Bagley Jr. (he makes $11M, so it fits financially for Philly and Sacto).
And be done with this saga once and for all.
Hield gives the 76ers a legit 3-point shooting threat with many productive years in front of him, and Bagley gives them another big guy off the bench.
Why would the Kings make this trade?
Kings haven’t been in the NBA playoffs in 15 seasons.
Maybe Ben Simmons can make them a winner and end a playoff drought that goes back to 2006.
