As the Sixers come off a perfect 5-game sweep of the West Coast playing their best basketball of the season, tonight they open a 5-game homestand against the Brooklyn Nets.
All-Stars Joel Embiid and James Harden are powering this winning resurgence the past month or so.
And health has a lot to do with it.
Guard Tyrese Maxey recently was put on the second unit to boost the play when Harden and Embiid sit, and it has worked like a charm.
Head Coach Doc Rivers had been looking for that boost all year, now he’s got it saying:
“That second unit did it again…they made a huge run for us, they’re finding their rhythm, doing a great job of executing and giving our guys lower minutes which has been huge for us”
Entering tonight’s game, the Sixers are just 2 games in the loss column behind Boston for the top spot in the Eastern Conference standings.
