SIXERS OPEN TOMORROW NIGHT: IT’S THE DOC AND DARYL SHOW!

By Michael Grimm

The Sixers have been re-sculpted under new boss Daryl Morey and new coach Doc Rivers, and we’ll see how their offseason work has done starting tomorrow night against the Wiz at the Wells.

They are aiming to climb back into the East’s top tier.

A humiliating first-round sweep led to the hiring of Rivers, who replaced Brett Brown, and the addition of Morey as president.

Trades for shooters Seth Curry and Danny Green gives them better spacing, but Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons must prove they possess the durability and cohesion required to lead a deep playoff run.

Brooklyn and Philly have both been linked to James Harden in trade rumors, and a blockbuster deal would surely shake up the conference standings.

2019-2020 record: 43-30 (No. 6 seed)

Key additions: Seth Curry, Danny Green, Dwight Howard

Key departures: Al Horford, Josh Richardson

The team is better balanced than the disappointing one last season, but Embiid and Simmons still must elevate their play.
