SIXERS ON THE CLOCK, JO WANTS TITLE, ‘IN PHILLY OR ANYWHERE ELSE’!

By Tommy Matthews

Here’s what Sixers star and NBA MVP Joel Embiid said four days ago:

“I just wanna win a championship. Whatever it takes. I don’t know where that’s gonna be.. whether it’s (inaudible) Philly or anywhere else. I just wanna have a chance to accomplish that. I wanna see what it feels like to win that first one and think about the next one. It’s not easy, but it takes more than one or two or three guys.”

Why is this noteworthy?

In the first place it is the first time Embiid has ever expressed the idea that he could leave the Sixers.

In the second place, the interview was conducted by Maverick Carter, who is LeBron James’ longtime friend and business partner who often influences the way LBJ thinks.

James is a Laker, so, you can connect the dots.

They need a center.

Embiid is a center.

Embiid has three more years on his contract at $47 million-plus, but he could force a trade.

Just the way James Harden is trying to.
