SIXERS NEED A BACK-UP CENTER: ANDRE DRUMMOND MAY COME BACK!

By Art Beitchman

As the NBA Finals come to an end and a new champion is crowned next week, the 76ers will be looking for a free agent backup center to take up minutes when Joel Embiid leaves the floor.

Reliable C Andre Drummond will be looked at closely. Included in the Harden-Simmons trade last season, Drummond did a nice job as backup last season, grabbing 20-plus rebounds more than once when Embiid had to sit out.

JaVale McGee is another good big body who’s had a nice NBA career solely as a big off the bench.

Robin Lopez, who played last season in Orlando, also has a big body at 7 feet, 280 pounds.

Isaiah Hartenstein, another 7-footer who played last year with the LA Clippers, also has been linked to the 76ers as a landing spot for the 2022-23 season.

These moves can become more substantial as soon as the season concludes in the next week or so.
