SIXERS’ NERLENS NOEL OUT WITH CORNEAL ABRASION

By Annie Ross

The Sixers were without power forward Nerlens Noel last night when they lost to the Chicago Bulls.

Noel watched the game from the team hotel and after suffering a corneal abrasion on Sunday night in Toronto because of a light sensitivity that would have intensified under the bright lights in the United Center.

Noel suffered the injury to his left eye during the third quarter of Sunday’s game when he was caught with an elbow from Raptors guard Kyle Lowry. According to Brown, Noel likely will not play in Wednesday’s game in Atlanta, either.

“It’s not as significant as we guessed,” Brown said of Noel’s injury. “We don’t expect him to play in Atlanta. We’ll learn more about it after 24 hours. It hasn’t even been 24 hours yet, but we don’t expect him for Atlanta.”
