Are the Sixers any closer to moving crybaby Ben Simmons two days after big boss Daryl Morey pissed on virtually every rumor that’s out there?
Are the Kings any closer to making a major roster shakeup?
The latest reporting came Wednesday from the Inky:
Keith Pompey wrote that the Kings are considering a package of Tyrese Haliburton, Buddy Hield, Harrison Barnes and two first-round draft picks for Simmons, Tobias Harris and Matisse Thybulle.
On Thursday, 76ers general manager Daryl Morey was asked about that specific rumor on The Mike Missanelli Show on 97.5 The Fanatic.
“I will answer this as best I can,” Morey said. “I can’t talk about a specific [trade]. I can tell you for sure there are deals with the Sacramento Kings that I think would work. Will those deals ever happen? I have no idea. Are they just straight deals with the Kings? Probably not. Is it multiple teams? Probably. But for sure there are deals that are possible that would go over our line.”
While Pompey reported that the Kings would be willing to include Hailburton in a potential trade, The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported later on Wednesday that Sacramento’s “current mindset” is to keep star guard De’Aaron Fox and build the team around him and Haliburton.
