ESPN’s Brian Windhorst reports that the Lakers LeBron James has “had contact” with the Toronto Raptors’ Kawhi Leonard and the Sixers Jimmy Butler, who are expected to be two of the most coveted free agents this offseason.
The NBA hasn’t shown any interest in enforcing its tampering rules when it comes to players. And with Magic Johnson gone, James may turn into the chief recruiter for the Lakers this summer.
Leonard and the Raptors are one win away from the NBA Finals. Butler and the 76ers’ run ended during the previous round.
Windhorst also said Kyrie Irving may also be in play for the Lakers and that James is expected to make a run at his former Cavs teammate.
