Sixer draft fave Ben Simmons is about to become a Nike millionaire.
LSU freshman Simmons – the possible Sixers top pick in the June 23 NBA draft – is nearing an agreement on a multiyear deal with Nike.
Simmons is choosing Nike’s offer over one from adidas, sources said, after Nike increased its proposal for Simmons.
Simmons’ deal is believed to be one of the largest rookie deals for Nike, but not close to the deals signed by LeBron James and Kevin Durant.
Simmons averaged 19.2 points, 11.8 rebounds, 4.8 assists and two steals per game in his one season at LSU.
The Sixers own the No. 1 pick in the draft and are reportedly leaning toward selecting Simmons.
