Big problems with the 76ers have been revealed this week on the defensive side of the ball.
They have gotten torched at the 3-point line twice this week — Monday against the Heat and last night as the Mavericks beat them 133-126. Dallas shot 25-48 at the 3-point line as they scorched the Sixers for 71 first-half points!
The Doc Rivers rotations and the team’s effort have to be called into question. NBA players are going to make a good percentage of open 3-balls without any pressure.
Whether the Sixers can fix any of these issues with just 20 games remaining in the regular season is anyone’s guess.
They’re 40-22, five games out of first in the Eastern Conference.
But if they don’t fix their perimeter defense an early-round exit from the NBA playoffs is a real possibility.
Then a major shake up of this basketball team will be clearly on the table.
