The 76ers’ revamped bench this season is paying dividends with Andre Drummond and Georges Niang as big pieces on the second unit.
Just the other night versus Portland, winning a game minus Joel Embiid, Tobias Harris that would have been a sure loss last season.
The upgraded bench play is somewhat negating the still bizarre absence from the team of Ben Simmons.
It’s still puzzling everyone how long this can go on!
Combo guard Tyrese Maxey is doing a nice job in Simmons spot, cutting down turnovers and running the point with success.
The ongoing saga with Simmons gone hangs over the Sixers until this problem can be resolved.
In the meantime the bench is bridging the gap as the team remains competitive in the Eastern Conference with the hot Chicago Bulls at the Wells Fargo Center tonight.
