ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne, appearing on “The Jump,” is reporting that Ben Simmons is willing to wait “as long as it takes” for the 76ers to let him leave. To that end, he’s willing to wait the entire year if need be.
“Ben Simmons is willing to sit as long as it takes to,” Shelburne said.
“When you talk to people close to Ben, I say, ”Okay, worst-case scenario it takes all year. Would he sit all year?” And the answer right now is: ‘Yes.’”
Simmons is a three-time all-star who had an historically bad 2021 postseason.
He averaged less than 35-percent from the free throw line and just 12 points per game over 12 games as the Sixers lost to the Atlanta Hawks in the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
