A trade that would have sent the Sixers Ben Simmons to the Warriors is dead in the water.
According to Anthony Slater, who covers the Dubs for The Athletic, there hasn’t been a conversation between the Warriors and 76ers regarding Simmons since before the draft.
At that point, Sixers big boss Daryl Morey kicked the tires on Andrew Wiggins, James Wiseman, the Warriors’ two 2021 first-round picks (which turned out to be Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody), and two future first-round picks.
The Warriors declined, and that was that.
The 76ers are on the clock as training camp approaches. But based upon Slater’s report, it’s highly unlikely that Simmons would be headed to the Warriors if he’s dealt.
