Center Joel Embiid had 18 points in 17 minutes in the Sixers exo debut win over Boston 108-99. They play at Indy on Friday night.
Philly took a 50-44 halftime lead, with Embiid accounting for 18 of their points, shooting 6 for 14 from the floor and getting to the line six times in only 17 minutes.
“Phenomenal. You know, it’s a great example for Joel. We ran our stuff, but we didn’t run his stuff, and he still had 18,” coach Doc Rivers said. “That’s one of the things that I was telling him. Joel, we can run continuity offense and not even run any plays for you, but you’re still gonna end up with the ball because you’re the best player.”
