“We played a pretty good game,” Flyers center Sean Couturier said. “We outshot them, had our chances, but we couldn’t capitalize and they get two bounces their way and they cashed in.”

Coots is right.
The Flyers did play a pretty good game.
They outshot the Islanders 26-10 through the first two period.
But in the end New York goaltender Ilya Sorokin’s 36 career-high saves were too much.
Anthony Beauvillier scored at 3:41 of overtime to give the visiting Islanders a 2-1 win over the Flyers.
Beauvillier beat Flyers goalie Brian Elliott on a wraparound for his fourth goal of the season.
Oskar Lindblom scored for the Flyers (15-11-4), who lost the last two of three consecutive games against New York. Elliott made 17 saves.
“[The Flyers] were on top of us a little bit, [but] we survived it,” New York coach Barry Trotz said. ” … They were a committed group tonight and when you run into that, you need someone to rise and tonight Ilya did that for us. He made some real key saves at key moments and we were able to grind our way back into an even game, and fortunately we finally beat them in overtime.”
Lindblom gave Philly a 1-0 lead with his third goal in three games at 12:03 of the second period when he redirected a pass from Claude Giroux.
But that was the only shot to get past Sorokin, who has a 1.35 goals-against average and a .944 save percentage during his winning streak.
The Flyers had 11 shots on goal in the third period, including two on a power play when Islanders defenseman Nick Leddy was called for hooking at 18:11.
“In my estimation, we should have scored more than one,” Flyers coach Alain Vigneault said. “We had some outnumbered situations there where we didn’t quite execute. We had some real good looks, and at the end of the night their goaltender was the difference tonight.”
