It’s a good thing LeSean McCoy is a great running back for the Eagles because he would never make it as a realistic analyst of all things NFL.

What other conclusion could one draw from the idiotic comments he made Wednesday on 94WIP?

McCoy said that the 4-12 team he was on in 2012 is better than the current group of Eagles, who are 7-2 after their thrashing of the Carolina Panthers this past Monday.

“We were very talented. Very, very talented,” McCoy said. “I want to say, even more or just as talented. I would say more. I would say more talented than this team, I think.”

As to why he felt the 2012 team, the team that ended up getting long-time head coach Andy Reid fired, was better than this year’s team coached by Chip Kelly, McCoy pointed to the talent on the “Dream Team.”

“We had (Jeremy) Maclin and DeSean (Jackson)..We had Trent (Cole), we had (Jason) Babin… we had Cullen Jenkins. You know, that’s hard to say. It’s close, how about that? It’s close.”

McCoy also stood up for his last coach, even implying that Reid might have been a better coach than Kelly.

“Ah, as far as what?,” McCoy said when asked if the coaching was better now. “Because Andy, you know…”

Here are the comparisons between the two teams:

2012 Eagles Team:
Offense: 17.5 points per game (29th)
Defense: 27.8 points per game (29th)
Differential: -164 points (30th)

2014 Eagles Team:
Offense: 31.0 points per game (4th)
Defense: 22.0 points per game (12th)
Differential: +81 points (3rd)
