SCREW-UP VINNY WILL BE ON FLYERS’ BENCH FOR A LONG TIME

By Sam Bush

If you were looking for Vinny Lecavalier in last night Flyers-Jets game, you had to gaze at the bench.

That’s where Vinny was and where he will be for a long time.

Lecavalier was be a “healthy scratch” again two days after making a costly error early in a 2-1 Flyers overtime loss in Calgary.

Lecavalier has been a “healthy scratch” for the ninth time in 14 games.

In Calgary, Lecavalier made a first-period pass from down low to the point that was picked off and led to the opening goal for Calgary.

Lecavalier’s mistake was on his second shift of the night, and he would end up getting just seven more in finishing with a season-low 4:37 of ice time. Every other Flyers player had at least twice as much ice time as Lecavalier and all but one had three times as much.

In five games, Lecavalier has one assist with a minus-1 plus-minus rating while averaging 8:55 of ice time.
