SANCHEZ BLOWS UP AND PHILS LOSE — SPEED BUMP OR WORSE?

By Sam Bush

Cristopher Sánchez allowed five runs (one earned) on four hits in three innings in the Phils 8-1 loss to the Reds.

And he was let down by his defense — three errors behind him.

He had trouble commanding his changeup and recorded three walks to go with his four strikeouts.

It’s likely just a minor bump in the road for Sánchez, who still has a 2.96 ERA on the season, and should be started with confidence next week against the Angels.
