Newly signed Eagles quarterback Sam Bradford met the media this afternoon, and here are the excerpts from the presser:
On staying: “I told you guys late last year I wanted to be back here. Now, I don’t have to worry about it. This is where I wanted to be.
On just a 2-year deal: “Every year is a new year, you always have to prove yourself. It wouldn’t matter if its two year, five years, 10 years.”
On his teammates: “I built great relationship with those guys in the locker room. That’s who I want to go on the field with, I told my agent just that.”
On the city: “Philadelphia is a great sports city, with great fans. It’s exciting every time we step foot in the Linc.”
On waiting for the deal: “Took time to get away and relax, went back home, hung out with friends. I had conversation with some people here before I left and I was confident I would be back.”
On Doug Pederson: “Conservations with coach were great. The fact he played the position was huge. Offense is similar to what we ran with Shurmur in St. Louis. It will be some learning, but it is similar.”
On being able to audible: “My mind is a great attribute. I enjoy going to the line and making checks. The fact he let Alex (Smith) do that in Kansas City. I look forward to that.”
On last year: “Obviously last year was disappointing for everyone in the organization. It’s on us to go out and perform at a higher level and be more consistent.
On testing the free agent market: “That wasn’t in my thoughts. I never talked to my agent about that. I wanted to come back here.”
On stability: “Stability is a key to success. If you look at successful quarterbacks around the league, you see stability. But it isn’t the only key.
