Saturday’s Phillies’ Futures Game at Citizens Bank Park ended in dramatic fashion, with the big club erasing a two-run, ninth-inning deficit to defeat their minor-league counterparts, 6-5.
Darin Ruf had a game-tying two-run double, while Cesar Hernandez (above) knocked in the game-winning run.
“Lot of good looking young players,” Phillies manager Pete Mackanin said of the Futures squad. “A lot of athleticism on the field, that was what impressed me.
“But we beat ’em twice, so we’re happy about that.”
