Robert Griffin III has ruled out as starting quarterback Washington Redskins quarterback for their regular season opener Sept. 1e3
With RG3’s return from a concussion still uncertain, the Redskins are planning to start Kirk Cousins in Week 1, according to a person with knowledge of the decision who spoke with USA Today.
Griffin won’t re-take his post-concussion test until next week, said the person, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the Redskins hadn’t announced any QB decision publicly.
So, barring an unexpected turnaround, it will be Cousins – the 27-year-old former fourth-round draft pick – under center Sept. 13 against the Miami Dolphins.
